He’s the secret behind Southampton’s upturn in form. Euros winner and never played in the 9-0. Top player!
They do. Lars Windhorst is his name.
I think Hertha are building quite a squad with him and signing Gotze in the summer too. They are improving, which is good for the whole league.

He isn't great at defending and gets bullied on his post constantly. The upside is he is ok going forward, while simultaneously not being able to put a cross in to save his life
Gonna enjoy see him in Barça next year.
The Sampdoria coach destroyed him and the whole team...
No dig at Piatek, but Hertha should invest into their management first.
[–]【霍芬海姆】MangerDanger1 127 points 1 day ago
Yeah debuchy was first choice until one of the biggest cunts to grace the prem (arnaughtyvic) decided he'd shove him while he was in midair leading to like a 6 month injury. Then bellerin played great and debuchy never got back in.
4 million in wages. Wtf, how much money do Hertha have? They doubled his wages after the terrible half (+ a bit) season.
Mental that only Messi and Griezmann have a higher release clause than Trincao at Barcelona. Not aware of Trincao personally, but Barcelona must see that he will be a real star in the future.

Now watch him tear up the Bundesliga and people start trashing the Milan management.
This boy is gonna go far, has talent and shows no signs (at least for now) of being afraid to get in the opposition's face. Lucky for both parties he gets to stay in our league for the rest of the season, no sudden changes and can start fresh next season.

Yes - this is the game.

It really is hard to believe Milan have given up on him so quickly after it felt like they spent most of the last January window trying to get a deal done with Genoa and when he got off to such a quick start.
Cedric is a solid signing maybe Arteta can get the best out of him lets see

Hertha might be mid table but they have big ambitions and very deep pockets now. I’m excited to see if this new money puts them on the Man City path or the 1860 München path.
Just to add on this: if he progresses like he has been, he's going to be a top player.
Also, first major talent to come out of Braga's new academy, IIRC! The B teams + new academies have really been paying off. Amazing Portuguese generation, I'm so hyped for the NT for the next few years!
Man what a strange career he’s had. So underwhelming on the club level. I wonder what would’ve happened if he never left the first time.

And one was in our 4-0 win against Pompey. Any chance I get to bring this up.

Arsenal did sign Debuchy a few years back, a very good fullback who’s Arsenal career was cut short by bad injuries.
[–] kaka_r 126 points 2 days ago
Same for my Leeds save. 2024
Very good player. If he keeps progressing like he is, can be a top player in the future. Also is a fair amount of money for him.
hes cover on the left AND right, this is tidy business from Raul.
your manager would like a word

I don’t think Michael Preetz has a vision of a coherent team in mind. This all feels an awful lot like QPR when they got bankrolled for a few seasons.
Nope. Italian wages are reported as net wages, German as gross wages.
[–]【阿森纳】momspaghetty 740 points 2 days ago
He will, I assure you. The difference between him and all the other talented signings is the mentality: this boy trains everyday like he's getting ready for UCL final, he takes care of himself a lot and he surrounds himself with the best people. He won't give up until he is Barça's number 7.
These signing are for next season. We are 11 points away from a EL spot due to our bad start.

Can you give your evaluation of his talent please?
He’s a decent backup for Bellerin, probably the most average PL RB they could hope for
[–]【多特蒙德】blacktiger226 414 points 2 days ago
At least he scored a fucking worldie to win the WC 2014.
One of the quickest rises and falls from grace in recent memory
True that. Every single player regressed so much under him. Start with Piatek, go with Suso, Paqueta, even Romagnoli. Leao, Bennacer, Theo and Rebic barely played and so on.

It's also weird that he was persistently linked with top 6 Premier League clubs but ends up joining a mid-table Bundesliga team instead.

Had a bit of a revival back in France at St Etienne at one point rumours of him being picked for the French squad.
I think he might be one of the worst coaches in our recent history. Glad we parted ways with him quickly.
[–]【南安普顿】GoodBananaPancakes 1647 points 1 day ago
I think he will fit in the possession gameplay of Barça very easily.
[–]【波尔图】sr-salazar 296 points 1 day ago
Guy scored 3 goals for us: one was a world class free kick, and for the other two he inexplicably ran up from RB to left wing and slotted home a great finish.
I have absolutely no idea how I should feel about this signing.
Why does this comment look like a Trump tweet
They have a new investors who bought 49% for 225 million.
I can’t believe we are spending this amount of money. Not really sure what to make of it.

Hertha casually spending 60m Euros this transfer window. At this point anything lower than an EL placement at the end of the season is probably a disaster.
Not the most exciting signing but it's sensible business. We have been playing youth players out of position at full back almost all season. Cedric has a lot of PL experience and we are getting him almost free, so overall i'm pretty happy with it.
Permanent move (24 Mil. €). Contract until 2024
Sounds perfect. Welcome to the Arsenal.
Take good care of our boy :'(

Bad, he's shite. He has no end product, can't defend, and is probably the worst defender we have had in the air in the last few years, if the ball goes to who he is marking it's as good as a shot on goal as he aint winning it.
He is an amazing player, really good left foot, the right not so good '', but he is super strong in 1vs1 situations. His margin of progression is enormous and i have no doubt that he will become an incredible player in the next years.
This feels like a transfer from about 15 years ago. Feels like nobody signs a dedicated backup anymore in defence any more, its either a young player expected to develop, or somebody expected to displace the first team option. Quite nice to see, hope it works out for him.
I love Gotze, I just wish his club career would work out for him!
Nah, pretty sure that never happened.
Wtf Gotze left you guys?

He was gonna be a backup striker at the top 6 clubs and a starter at Hertha Berlin. I think he made the right choice for his career.

[–]【曼斯菲尔德】Jonoabbo 519 points 1 day ago
that's a resonable price, could have seen him as a second striker at dortmund
It's still a bit early to tell but the vision and footballing senses seem to be there, which are usually good signs that a player will turn out good. He doesn't necessarily rely on physical attributes and, like you said, he isn't afraid of going on 1v1s (and is usually amazing at them). That + Barça's possession style, I think will make him a great fit!

The fact that there is no hype around this transfer makes me think it's going to be a good one. Hope that he achieves his full potential at Barcelona.
Good deal for all sides though. Don't know what happened with him in the summer, but he looks like a different player this season.
[–]【阿森纳】Finsbury-Park 1102 points 1 day ago
He is certainly not cover on the left. He's absolutely atrocious there, pretty sure we played hojbjerg over him at lb at one point.
Just a back-up. Dont see why its so weird.
